Fundraiser

Brief Description

The position of volunteer fundraiser at Wickerbys C.I.C. includes a variety of tasks such as working hard, being a passionate and enthusiastic ambassador, and working compliantly and in accordance with industry rules and making sure that every person you speak to, regardless of the outcome of your conversations, is left with a positive impression of you and Wickerbys C.I.C. We are looking for experienced fundraisers, or you may have never worked in a job like this before and wish to gain some experience whilst supporting our good cause. Qualifications and/or experience for this position are desirable but not essential as full training will be given. Wickerbys C.I.C. does not discriminate against any protected characteristic and welcomes all applications. Due to the vulnerability of some of our customers, all employees are expected to undergo an enhanced DBS check and training, which will be paid for by the organisation. 

 

Your Tasks will include but are not limited to

  • Travelling, so the willingness to travel is a must.

  • Being a people person and communicating with a variety of individuals and organisations.

  • Gathering evidence for funding applications.

  • Writing funding applications and monitoring for responses and further information requests.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A certificate in Fundraising or Diploma in Fundraising from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (CIOF) is a bonus but not essential.

  • Experience as a fundraiser or previous employment in a similar role, which demonstrates capability, would be advantageous.

  • Have a positive attitude, in addition to a strong work ethic, a great personality, as well as the ability to work with a wide variety of people.

  • Be a great communicator and be able to talk and engage with a member of the public and quickly build rapport.

  • Math skills, planning, writing funding requests and proposals and filing these accurately.

  • You will be determined, resilient and self-motivated.

  • You will be happy to work weekends.

  • You will need to be able to adapt to your surroundings and have self-awareness.

  • You will have compassion and empathy.

  • A car and a driving licence or a way to transport to many different places around the UK.

  • Teamwork – can collaborate with management/CEO and keep them updated and involved when necessary.

  • Communication – communicate effectively with clients, other organisations, and management.

  • Time Management – effectively managing time to provide as much time as needed to each event.

  • Attention to Detail – Job communication precision in the processing of each fundraising application and following these up.

  • Adaptability – adjusting to any changes in organisational needs, strategic plans, or other organisational changes.

 

Lines of Communication

  • The Fundraiser reports and collaborates closely to the CEO.

 

Working Conditions

  • This volunteer position can be full-time or part-time with flexible working hours. It is a demanding position and can be hard work at times, and many hours needed to fulfil reports at times.
