Our Commitment to Safeguarding
Wickerbys C.I.C. is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk. We recognise our responsibility to take all reasonable steps to protect individuals who access our services from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we expect all staff, volunteers, trustees, and partners to share this commitment.

Our Approach
Wickerbys C.I.C. achieves its safeguarding commitment by:

Implementing and regularly reviewing safeguarding policies and procedures.

Carrying out safer recruitment practices, including DBS checks where appropriate.

Providing safeguarding training and guidance to staff and volunteers.

Appointing a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) responsible for overseeing safeguarding matters.

Responding promptly and appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

Working in partnership with statutory agencies and other organisations where required.
Reporting a Concern

All safeguarding concerns will be treated seriously and handled in line with statutory guidance and local safeguarding procedures.
Confidentiality
Information relating to safeguarding concerns will be shared only where necessary and in accordance with data protection legislation. The safety and welfare of the individual concerned will always take priority.
